Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Scantland Stewart, 68, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Friday from 11 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at her residence. She was born January 29, 1946, in Jackson County, TN, to the late William Scantland and Ora Hix Scantland. She was married to the late Thomas Stewart. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Lake View Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 Brothers and Sisters-in-Law: Lawton and Geraldine Scantland, Eston B. and Anna Scantland, James "Jim" and Betty Scantland, Lando and Willene Scantland, and Elbert and Idell Scantland; and 1 Sister and 2 Brothers-in-Law: Louise and Gene Barlow and Donnie Hix. Survivors include 1 Son: Michael (Angela) Scantland of Baxter, TN; 1 Daughter: Crystal Johnson of Monterey, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Austin Scantland, Noah Scantland, Mikaela Scantland, and Grace Johnson; 1 Brother: Joe (Edna) Scantland of Gainesboro, TN; and 3 Sisters: Martha (Earl) Flynn and Betty Hix, all of Gainesboro, TN, and Ina (Charlie) Poston of Livingston, TN.
