Funeral services for Mr. Donnie W. Hix, 54, of the Dudneys Hill community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, June 17, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 A.M. - 9 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mr. Hix passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born November 27, 1950, in Jackson County to Nellie Marie Hix and the late Junior Hix. On August 10, 1970, he was married to Betty S. Hix, who survives. Mr. Hix was an electrician and worked for Lakeland Electric. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, and was a member of the Dudney's Hill Church of Christ. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents: Bill & Martha Jane Heady; and his Paternal Grandparents: Kirk & Mollie Hix. Survivors include his wife: Betty S. Hix of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons & 1 Daughter-in-Law: Tony W. Hix & Special Friend Chasity Barlow, of Gainesboro, TN, and Kelly B. & Christy Hix of Gainesboro, TN; his mother: Nellie Marie Hix of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sisters and Brothers-in-Law: Linda Jane & Tony S. Maberry of Gainesboro, TN, and Jackie M. & Dennis Smith of Cookeville, TN; 2 Special Children: Blaise Barlow & Kinsey Barlow; 2 Nieces: Lindsey Smith & Taylor Maberry; and 1 Nephew: Connor Smith.
