Don Charles Ogle

Mr. Don Charles Ogle, Sr. 82, of Gainesboro, TN, passed away January 14, 2016 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. The family has chosen cremation. Memorial services and interment of cremains will be held at a later date. He was born May 25, 1933 in Gatlinburg, TN, to the late Newell R. Ogle and Julia Ogle. On November 19, 1958, he was married to Dolores Mathis Ogle, who survives. He was a member of Roaring Fork Baptist Church. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force have served in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Following his military career, he worked for Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman. He held instructor and commercial pilot licenses. He served as Sherriff of Sevier County from 1990-1994. He was a talented painter, an avid fly fisherman, and a world traveler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Sons: Don Charles Ogle, Jr. and Steven Michael Ogle and 1 Brother: Newell Russell Ogle, Jr. Survivors include his Wife: Dolores Mathis Ogle of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Cynthia Jean Manis of Oak Ridge, TN; 1 Grandson: Christopher Jinks and his wife, Andrea of Gatlinburg, TN; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Crystal Rose, Cameron Dane, and Savannah Jinks; 2 Brothers: Max Ogle and his wife, Debbie of Seymour, TN and Ronald Charles Godfrey and his wife, Carolyn of Maryville, TN; 1 Sister: Barbara Ann McCoy of Fountain City, TN; and 2 Sisters-in-law: Sarah Ogle of Powell, TN and Paulette and her husband, Mark Walz of Leesburg, Florida.
