Cora Cook Meade

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Bell Cook Meade, age 88, a resident of Gainesboro, TN, will be held Friday, March 7, 2008, at 2 P.M. at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Harris - Meade Cemetery in the Old Antioch community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 P.M. - 8 P. M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Meade passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at her residence in Gainesboro, TN. She was born April 24, 1919, in Knott Co., KY, to the late Rude D. Cook and Clarinda Hall Cook. On October 23, 1933, she was married to the late Willie Meade, who passed away April 26, 1994. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Old Antioch Community Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Willie and Susie Johnson Hall; paternal grandparents: Samuel Miles Cook and Sarah Lee Johnson Cook; 2 Sisters: Myrtle Cook Harris and Ellen Cook Harris; 1 Brother: Dave Cook; 2 Sons: James Milford (Buddy) Meade and Carlos Sexton; 1 Son-in-Law: Earl Harris; 2 Grandchildren: Willie Dale Harris and Debbie Nichole Pryor; and 1 Great-Grandchild: Stephanie Mechelle Gruel. Survivors include 4 Daughters and 3 Sons-in-law: Geraldine Harris and Pauline & Ulis Hammock, all of Gainesboro, TN; Juanita & Alan Pryor of Plainfield, IN; and Patricia and Erbi H. Cantrell of Gainesboro, TN; and 8 Grandchildren: Patricia Cantrell, Cora Ellen Guffey, Iola Marie Isaacs, Richard Pryor, Leslie Pryor, Sharon Guy, Edward Hammock, and Theresa Riley. 25 Great-Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great-Grandchildren also survive.
