Mr. Clifton "Red" Goolsby was born January 7, 1932, to the late Champ and Pearlie Goolsby in Clay County, Tennessee. He passed away in peace at the Hospice Center in Athens, GA. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesboro, TN, where he served as a deacon. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and was a former business owner and retiree of J.C. Penny's. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Dwight Goolsby; his Wife: Ann (Tootsie) Goolsby; his Second Wife: Wilma Byers; 2 Brothers: Kenneth Goolsby and Marlin Goolsby; and 1 Sister-in-Law: Emmajean Goolsby. Survivors include 1 Sister: Vickey Goolsby Apple of Cookeville; 1 Son: Michael (Sylvia) Goolsby of Colbert, GA; 2 Grandsons: Spence (Shai Littlejohn) Goolsby of Brentwood, TN, and Adam (Irene) Goolsby of Lakenheath, England; 3 Great - Grandsons: Brenden Goolsby, Ayden Goolsby, and Garrick Goolsby; 1 Great Granddaughter: Isabella; 1 Uncle: Vester Boles of New Castle, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews Bro. Damon Corley, Bro. Kelly Stockton, and Bro. Mark Burnett will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity by contacting the funeral home.
