Claude Payton Anderson

Funeral services for Mr. Claude Payton Anderson, 97, of the Roaring River community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, February 16, at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 - 9 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services at Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mr. Anderson passed away on Monday, February 14, 2005, at his residence. He was born September 24, 1907, in Jackson County to the late Walter T. and Ova Haile Anderson. On May 28, 1959, he was married to Tennie "Tootsie" Haney Anderson, who survives. Mr. Anderson was a farmer and a member of the Gainesboro Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Walter Owen Anderson; 2 Sisters: Dolan Norton and Dorothy West; and 3 Brothers: Carl T. Anderson, Lewis "Doc" Anderson, and James "Jelly" Anderson. Survivors include his wife: Tennie "Tootsie" Haney Anderson of the Roaring River community of Jackson County, TN; 1 Son: Dale (Celia) Smith of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Marsha Claudette (Dennis) Elliott of Gahanna, Ohio; 1 Brother: Draper (Treva) Anderson of Nashville, TN; and 2 Sisters: Doyle Bradham of Gallatin, TN, and Eudelle (Vestal) Roberts of Cookeville, TN. 10 Grandchildren, 17 Great- Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
