Funeral services for Mrs. Clarissa Marie Apple, 80, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, at NHC Health Care in Cookeville, TN. She was born March 15, 1937, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Raymond C. Henson and Effie Brown Henson. On August 1, 1959, she was married to the late Robert C. Apple, who passed away May 18, 2015. She was a garment factory worker, and enjoyed feeding the children while working in the school cafeteria. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Danny C. Apple; 1 Brother: Cecil Henson; and 1 Sister: Clois Jones. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Dianne (Tommy) Head of Gainesboro, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Deanna Apple, Kristi (Matt) Donegean, Brooklyn Apple, and their mother, Denese Apple Bybee; Kayla (Garry) Fox, and Jared Head; 2 Great Grandchildren: Tripp Fox and Cheyenne Fox; and 2 Sisters: Shirley (Alan) Hailey of Carthage, TN, and Sue (Bob) Luttumann of Cookeville, TN.
