Clara Mae Fox

Clara Mae "Tad" Fox was born October 4, 1935 in Dekalb County, TN and she passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at her residence in Gainesboro at the age of 88.

She was the daughter of James Samuel "Sam" Hickey and Alma Lillon Coleman Hickey.  She worked at Bonnell Aluminum in Gordonsville for 26 years.  She attended Second Creek School in Dekalb County until Center Hill Lake was formed and then the family moved to Putnam County where she attended Silver Point School.  

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Aaron C. Fox who died November 30, 1994 along with  9 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Larry Edward Fox and Garry (Lisa) Aaron Fox both of Gainesboro; daughters, Sharon Lanett Fox and Wanda (Jerry) Lois Lynn both of Gainesboro and Karen (Buddy) Lanell Payne of Sykes; brother, Donnie Hickey of Smithville; sisters, Annie Flatt of Cookeville and Joyce Bird of Ohio; 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.  Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Saturday 4-8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home and Sunday 9 am to 3 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 3 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Flatt & Woolbright Cemetery.
