Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Jones Halfacre, 98, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M., and Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN. She was born October 2, 1916, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Maxie Jones and Susan Ann Jones. On August 1, 1937, she was married to the late Virgil Halfacre. She was a retired factory worker at Washington Mfg. Co. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 Brothers: John, Ernest, Malcolm, Glenn, and Sam; and 4 Sisters: Eva, Effie, Polly, and Aileen. Survivors include 1 Son: Joe V. (Joan) Halfacre of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Grandson: Jay Halfacre of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Sisters-in-Law: Lela Jones of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Louise Halfacre of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Ojeal Webster of GA; 2 Special Nieces: Helen Porter and Hilda Daughtery; and Special Friend: Mildred Dennis. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the JCHS Bootstrap Award or the donor's favorite charity by contacting the funeral home.
