Charlie Wade Burris

Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Wade Burris, 76, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 3 P.M. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Signature Health Care Center in Algood, TN. He was born July 2, 1942, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late Hayden Burris and Eva Mai Burris. On March 28, 1964, he was married to Carolyn Burris, who survives. He was the owner and operator of Burris Disposal, and was a member of the Zion Church of Christ. He loved fishing, ballgames, and family activities, and served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Children: Baby Boy Burris and Connie Carol Burris; 2 Brothers: Mark Burris and Eddie Burris; and 1 Sister: Margie Ann Burris. Survivors include his Wife: Carolyn Burris of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons: Michael (Renea) Burris and Mitchell (Kim) Burris, both of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Tammie (Rodney) McMillan of Gainesboro, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Brooklyn Burris, Lindsay Burris, Drew (Kayla) McMillan, Marcus (Briana) McMillan, Morgen Burris, and Eli Burris; and 3 Great Grandchildren: Briella Hix, Silas Hix, and Damon McMillan. Bro. John Anderson and Bro. Dale Crossman will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the India Orphans Fund or the Jackson Smith County Youth Camp by contacting the funeral home.
