Charlie W. Ward

Funeral services for Mr. Charlie W. Ward, 77, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. - 9 P. M., and on Sunday from 12 Noon until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born January 25, 1934, in Warren County, TN, to the late Tom Ward and Ovie Ward. On December 18, 1952, he was married to Ruby Fox Ward, who survives. He was the former owner of Johnson's Garage, and a member of the McCoinsville Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Infant Grandson: Robert Ward; and 2 Sisters: Anna Belle Lyles and Katherine Virginia Ward. Survivors include his Wife: Ruby Fox Ward of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Sons: Tommy (Linda) Ward, Wayne (Darlene) Ward, and Roger Ward and Special Friend, Karen Jones, all of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Virginia (Henry) Frizzell of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Brothers: Joe (Liz) Ward of Gainesboro, TN, and W.M. (Ruby) Ward of Owens Crossroad, AL; 8 Grandchildren: Crystal Keith, Amanda Stafford, Rebecca Wimberly, Elizabeth Phillips, Faith Henshaw, David Frizzell, Cordell Frizzell, and Justin Frank Ward; and 9 Great- Grandchildren: Devin, Seth, Isaiah, Hannah, Caleb, Emma, Jeremiah, Abigail, and Marlie. Bro. Jimmy Anderson, Bro. Duane Gossett, and Bro. Matthew Scoggins will officiate at the services.
