Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Clyde Ray, 89, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Monday, January 27, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Cubb Creek Cemetery in the Cubb Creek community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Monday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Friday, January 24, 2014, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born June 20, 1924, in Davidson County, TN, to the late Joseph "Joe" Ray and Willie Ryan Ray. On August 21, 1965, he was married to Jo Helen Allen Ray, who survives. He worked as a carpenter with John Roy Butler and Junior Willmore. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Gid S. Ray. Survivors include his Wife: Jo Helen Allen Ray of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Diane Ray of MI; 1 Grandson: Bradley Ray of MI; and 1 Sister: June Ray Lawson of Bloomington Springs, TN.
