Charles Whitaker

Funeral services for Mr. Charles F. Whitaker, 88, of of Jackson County, TN, will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. - 8 P. M., and Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 21, 1930, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Herman Whitaker and Vallie Haney Whitaker. On January 19, 1954, he was married to Pauline Richardson Whitaker, who survives. He worked as a Hi-Lo Driver at General Motors and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Lillie Mae Whitaker Goolsby; and 1 Infant Brother. Survivors include his Wife: Pauline Whitaker of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Kathy (Terry) Geer of Cookeville, TN and Vicky (Al) Vanderlinden of Clinton Township, MI; 4 Grandchildren: Jason (Allison) Geer of Gallatin, TN; Shannon Geer of Walling, TN; Caitlyn (Nick) Constanza of IN; and Alex (Courtney) Vanderlinden of Clinton Township, MI; and 3 Much Beloved Great Grandchildren: Hudson Whitaker Geer, Ava Hayes Geer, and Kolton Alex Vanderlinden. Bro. John Mabrey will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the India Mission Fund, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Happy Haven Home by contacting the funeral home.
