Charles W. Hopkins

Charles W. Hopkins was born May 18, 1929, in Jackson County, TN, and he passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at his residence in the New Salem community of Jackson County, TN, at the age of 94.

He was the son of the late Robert Lee Hopkins and Mary Susan Allen Hopkins. He was married to the late Reba Irene Hopkins, who passed away July 28, 2023. He was a retired public servant and farmer, serving as Jackson County Road Superintendent and County Commissioner. He was also a bus driver, and member of the New Salem Church of Christ. Mr. Hopkins was also Master Mason of Tannehill Lodge #133 for 55 years.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his Brothers: Marion Hopkins, Lewis Morgan Hopkins, Joe Reeves Hopkins, Edwin Lee Hopkins, and Sister: Betty "Betts" Brown.

Survivors include his Son: Charles William (Donna) Hopkins, Jr. of Gainesboro, TN; Daughters: Bobbie Sue (Tommy) Davidson of Bloomington Springs, TN, and Wanda Jean (David) Tucker of Cookeville, TN; Grandchildren: Seth (Missy) Tucker, Jessica (Jason) Hardy, Melissa (David) Snipes, Heather (Andy) Melton, Andrea (Clay) Thaxton, Brent (Carly) Davidson, Ashley (Caleb) Richardson, Adrianne (Jim) Phann, and Brandon (Amber) Hopkins; Great Grandchildren: Kyleigh Hardy, Jacob Hardy, Elijah Charles Tucker, Gabrielle Bettis, Matthew Snipes, Andrew Blake Melton, Brady Ray Melton, Charles Henry Thaxton, Thomas Peek, Makenna Hopkins, Michael James Richardson, Mary Richardson; and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 3 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN, with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Allentown Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11 A.M. until time of services.
