Charles Smith

Charles Edward Smith was born August 5, 1958 in Jackson County, TN and he passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the age of 65.

He was the son of the late William Henry Smith and Ruth Katherine Hix Smith.  Charles was a truck driver and a resident of the Fairview Community.  On August 7, 1982 he was married to Jeanette Wheeler for 41 years of marriage.

Preceded in death by his father, William Henry Smith, his father in law, Edward Wheeler and mother-in-law, Mary Ann Wheeler.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Smith of Gainesboro; son, Tracey (Jessica) Smith of Gainesboro; grandson, Wyatt Baylor Smith of Gainesboro; mother, Katherine Smith of Gainesboro; brother in law, Lewis Wheeler of Gainesboro; special nieces, Savana Jeanette Wheeler and Lillian Connor Wright.  Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 8, 2024 4-8 pm and Sunday 10 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2024 in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Clayton Lee officiating.  Burial will follow in Lynn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Wyatt Baylor Smith, Stevie Stafford, Joe Looper, Greg Gray, Richard Winchester, David Bronson and James Lawson, Jimmy Vaughn.  Honorable pallbearers are Savannah Wheeler, Lilly Wright and Colby Wright.
