Funeral services for Mr. Charles S. Burgess, 79, of Sparta, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Granville Cemetery in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 Noon until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Life Care Center of Sparta. He was born November 12, 1938, in Granville, TN, to the late Donald Burgess and Ila Kirby Burgess. He was a factory worker in the airplane industry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the Mother of his children: Nina Bean Burgess. Survivors include 1 Son: Charles S. Burgess, Jr. of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Kimberly (Randy) Brown of Crossville, TN, and Michelle Burgess of Nashville, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Lindsey Brown, Lauren (Landon) Sherrill, Leslie Brown, Mark Brown, and Samantha (Curtis) Shannon; and 3 Great - Grandchildren: Spencer Shannon, Ruby Sherrill, and Iris Sherrill.
