Charles "Rod" Clinton

Charles Edward "Rod" Clinton was born June 2, 1944 in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 79.

Rod was the son of William Elvis and Bertha Eudell Garrison Clinton.  He was a heavy construction operator for Elk Mountain Construction for 25 years.  He was a member of the Freewill Church of Christ.  He was a resident of the Shiloh community.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Janie "Polly" Clinton who died June 13, 2019; brothers, James "Dick" Clinton, Dave Clinton sisters, Mary Clinton Allen, Johnnie Haney and Wilma Scott.

Survivors include son, Tim (Amanda) Clinton of Cookeville, daughter, Becky (Robert) Gaw of Cookeville; brother, Harvey Clinton of Hohenwald, TN; sisters, Mildred Ann Smith and Lisa Mayberry both of Cookeville; grandson, Ridge Kennedy of Cookeville.  Other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 6, 2023, 11am till 3 pm with funeral services beginning at 3 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Burris Cemetery.
