Funeral services for Mr. Charles Louis Hix, 75, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Hix passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 17, 1933, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Charlie and Mary Nell Dudney Hix. On June 17, 1993, he was married to Linda Faye Hix, who survives. He was retired from General Motors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Charles Michael Hix; and 1 Brother: Eugene Hix. Survivors include his Wife: Linda Faye Hix of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: James Brian (Crescent) Allen of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Daughters: Sheila Hix of Jacksboro, TN, Melinda Kay (Donnie) Sullivan of Gainesboro, TN, and Carolyn Jean Allen of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Brother: Joe Hix of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Sisters: Elizabeth Hooten of Nashville, TN, Inez Bremmer of Nashville, TN, and Ann Thompson of Gainesboro, TN; 8 Grandchildren; and 1 Great Grandchild. Bro. Terry Newberry will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society by contacting the funeral home.
