Cecil Ballard

Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Ballard, 77, of the Freewill community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Hensley Cemetery in the Freewill community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 P. M. - 9 P.M., Wednesday from 10 A.M. - 9 P.M., and Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Ballard passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born June 5, 1930, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Layton and Ova D. Ballard. On May 12, 1952, he was married to the late Wilma Anderson Ballard, who passed away January 27, 1981. He was a factory worker, and was affiliated with the Church of Christ at Freewill. Survivors include 1 Son and Daughter-in-Law: Danny and Anita Ballard of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Grandchild: Jennifer Alashawi; 2 Great-Grandchildren: Faith and Ali Alashawi; 5 Brothers and 3 Sisters-in-Law: Burt and Viria Ballard of Roseville, MI, Hollis and Jean Ballard of Roseville, MI, B. Ballard of Cookeville, TN, Jack and Pauline Ballard of Baxter, TN, and Johnny Ballard of Gainesboro, TN; and 1 Sister and Brother- in-Law: Marie and Billy Martin of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Special thanks to Leeford and Edna Spell. Bro. Kenneth Anderson and Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
