Funeral services for Mr. Carlton Burl Finch, 88, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, February 21, 2014, at Gainesboro First United Methodist Church in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 P.M. - 6 P.M., with Masonic services to be held at 6 P.M. The body will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. He was born January 3, 1926, in Marion County, Ohio, to the late Carlton Wilbur Finch and Sarah Ellen Sims Finch. On January 20, 1961, he was married to Reba Nell Allen Finch, who survives. He was a retired foreman at Marion Power Shovel and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Gainesboro First United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Al Menah Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife: Lucille (Scowden); 2 Brothers: Frederick and Ralph; and 3 Sisters: Elizabeth Miller, Norma Brown, and Helen Ruth Woodrum. Survivors include his Wife: Reba Nell Allen Finch of Gainesboro, TN; and 3 Daughters: Linda (Richard) James of Cardington, OH, Sandy (Joe) Parish of Gainesboro, TN, and Charlene Finch (Jimmy) Tollett of Cookeville, TN. Rev. Kathie Bowles will officiate at the services.
