Carlene Wade Hensley

Funeral services for Carlene Wade Hensley, 77, of Cookeville, TN, will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020, at 2 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Hensley Cemetery in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Monday from 12 Noon until time of services. She passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born April 19, 1943, in Baxter, TN, to the late Floyd Wade and Bertha Jared Wade. On July 29, 1961, she was married to Carrol F. Hensley, who survives. She was a fabric and shoe salesperson, and also worked in health care services. She loved to sew, and to be called “Nannoo.” She was a member of the Zion Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an Infant Son; 4 Brothers: Lester Wade, Gerald Wade, James Henry Wade, and Joe Ray Wade; and 3 Sisters: Nell Dean Terry, Betty Sue Russel, and Ruth Lee Scarlett. Survivors include her Husband: Carrol F. Hensley of Cookeville, TN; 2 Daughters: Sonya Hensley and spouse, Kenny Pate of Cookeville, TN, and Dianne Hensley of Cookeville, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Douglas Hensley and spouse, Kimberly of Sparta, TN, and Hillary Flatt and spouse, Sean of Cookeville, TN; and 3 Great Grandchildren: Zane Flatt and Pate Flatt, both of Cookeville, TN, and Liliauna Hensley of Sparta, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Dale Crossman and Douglas Hensley will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the India Mission Fund, Hensley Cemetery, or the donors favorite charity by contacting the funeral home. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that visitors please wear face masks.
