Funeral services for Mrs. Carlena Phillips, 99, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery in the Fairview community of Putnam County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Thursday from 12 Noon until time of services. She passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015, at her residence. She was born October 17, 1915, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Henry Dickerson and Daisy Lynn Dickerson. On February 29, 1944, she was married to the late Comer Phillips. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Fairview Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Billie Sue Johnson; 1 Grandson: Matthew Johnson; 1 Sister: Della Allen; and 1 Brother: Billy Dickerson. Survivors include 1 Son: Tommy (Sue) Phillips of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Carole (Garry) Anderson of Cookeville, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Eric (Debbie) Anderson, Brad (Jennifer) Anderson, Pam (Tim) Thompson, Susan Dingle, Mark (Debbie) Johnson, and Michael Johnson; 12 Great Grandchildren; and 9 Great Great Grandchildren. Bro. Teston Gilpatrick and Bro. Buddy Reeder will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Cemetery on Fairview Road by contacting the funeral home.
