Funeral services for Mr. Carlen J. Wiggins, Sr., 86, of Whitleyville, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, February 6, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Wiggins Family Cemetery in the Wartrace community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage, TN. He was born July 12, 1930, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Jay G. Wiggins and Lucinda Wiggins. He was married to the late Ina B. Raines Wiggins, who passed away February 18, 2005. He was a land surveyor, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Sons: George H. Spurlock and Robert W. Spurlock; and 2 Sisters: Anna Minchey and Doris Morgan. Survivors include 2 Sons: Carlen J. Wiggins, Jr. of Whitleyville, TN, and Michael Wiggins of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Shirley Hawkins of Gainesboro, TN, and Sandra K. Jones of Chicago, IL; 8 Grandchildren: Brittany Nicole Wiggins, Victoria Wiggins, Carlen J. Wiggins III, Travis J. Wiggins, Ransom Wiggins, Gerald Jones, Jeremy Spurlock, and Phoebe Spurlock; and 2 Great Grandchildren. Bro. E.C. Meadows will officiate at the services.
