Funeral services for Mr. Carey (I J) Temple, 77, of Madison, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 A.M. - 2 P.M., and again on Friday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M. Visitation on Saturday will be from 10 A.M until time of services. Mr. Temple passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born January 2, 1930, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Jack Boyd Temple and Faria Mae Temple. On August 21, 1965, he was married to the late Ruby Martin Temple, who passed away January 3, 2004. He was an operating engineer for Local 369 Teamsters Union, and a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jack Boyd and Faria Mae Temple; his wife: Ruby Martin Temple; 1 Daughter: Donna Watson; and 1 Brother: J T Temple. Survivors include 1 Son: Ransom Temple of Madison, TN; 3 Step - Sons: Garry Lee Martin, Sr. of Dowelltown, TN, Ricky Davis of Shelby, N.C., and Don Davis of New Johnsonville, TN; 3 Daughters: Faria Mae Temple and Deborah Harris, both of Goodlettsville, TN, and Brenda Adcock of Greenbrier, TN; 1 Step - Daughter: Nancy Baker of Nashville, TN; 2 Special Grandchildren: Brandon Watson and Karrie Watson; 14 Grandchildren; and Several Great-Grandchildren.
