Funeral services for Mr. Burch Lane (Spot) Kirby, 53, of Rickman, Tennessee, will be held at 3 P.M. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 Noon - 9 P.M., and on Wednesday from 10 A.M until time of services. Mr. Kirby passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born May 11, 1954, in Cookeville, Tennessee, to the late Jessie Lee Kirby and Claudia Pearl Spivey Cole Kirby. He was a carpenter and truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Burch Lane Kirby, Jr.; 6 Brothers: Jackie and Thomas Kirby and 4 infants; and 1 Sister: Shirley Maxwell. Survivors include his life partner: Christina Cox of Rickman, TN; 5 Sons: Raymond Lee Kirby, Jeffery Kirby Birdwell, and Dereck Kirby, all of Gainesboro, TN; Casey Kirby of Cookeville, TN; and Dalton Kirby of Crawford, TN; 4 Daughters: Christy Kirby and Krystal Cooper, both of Rickman, TN; Jessica Kirby of Livingston, TN; and Tabitha Whitehead of Baxter, TN; 2 Brothers: Jerry Ray Kirby of Baxter, TN, and Twin Brother: Carl Wayne Kirby of Cookeville, TN; 1 Sister: Anna Lee Massa of Cookeville, TN; and 10 Grandchildren: Christopher Owen Kirby, Lloyd Timons Watkins, Shawn Douglas Fletcher, Tabitha Nicole Fletcher, Shelbie Lynn Edmonds, Dakota Alan Cooper, Lillie Marion Cooper, Jessie Lane Kirby, Ethan Christopher Kirby, and Chloe Elizabeth Freeman.
