Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Dyer Nowak, 54, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born March 16, 1960, in Jackson County, TN, to Bobby Joe Dyer and Shirley Lorraine Crites Dyer. She was married to the late Jim Nowak. She was a housewife. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents: Richard Crites and Herbert and Ethel Dowling; and Paternal Grandparents: Johnny and Nina Dyer. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Carmella Nowak of Gainesboro, TN; her Father: Bobby Joe Dyer of Bloomington Springs, TN; her Mother: Shirley Lorraine Crites Dyer of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister: Lisa Dyer Woodard of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Niece: Paishence Rush; and 1 Nephew: T.J. Mowrey. Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family by contacting the funeral home.
