Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Wayne Dennis, 71, of the New Salem community of Jackson County, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery in the New Salem community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., Tuesday from 10 A.M. - 9 P.M., and Wednesday from 9 A.M. until time of services Mr. Dennis passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2008, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born August 27, 1936, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Cordell and Mildred Hensley Dennis. On August 18, 1956, he was married to Bobby Jean Wheeler Dennis, who survives. He was a bus owner and driver, and was a member of the New Salem Church of Christ where he served as church treasurer for many years. He also helped in the Disaster Relief Program supplying help to those in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Jack and Billy Mack Dennis; and 1 Nephew: Scott Dennis. Survivors include his Wife: Bobbie Jean Wheeler Dennis of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son and Daughter-in-Law: Dale and Mindy Dennis of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters and Sons-in- Law: Debbie and Roger Buckner and Denise and James Maynard, all of Cookeville, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Kimberly (Nathan) Fox, Pate Dennis, and Liza Dennis; 1 Sister and Brother-in-Law: June and Gene Smith of Celina, TN; and 1 Sister-in-Law: Linda M. Dennis of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. Kenneth Anderson will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Orphanage in Tuni, India, by contacting Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.
