Billy Ray Henson

Billy Ray "Bigfoot" Henson was born February 1, 1953, in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at his residence in Gainesboro, TN at the age of 72.

Billy was the son of Harvey Lee Henson and Georgia Mai Bennett. He married Linda Gay Stover on May 5, 1984.  Billy worked 27 years at the zinc mine in Smith County, TN.  He was a member of the Tannehill Lodge #133 in Gainesboro, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Phyllis Stafford and Dorothy Locke both of Gainesboro, TN and Doris Watts of McMinnville, TN; brothers: James Henson of Gainesboro, TN and Onnielee Henson of Pa.

Survivors include his wife: Linda Henson of Gainesboro, TN; sons: James Henson of Gainesboro, TN, Charlie (Robin) Henson of Cookeville, TN, Richard (Candi) Henson of Livingston, TN, Adam (Sherian) Walker of Gainesboro, TN, Johnathon Walker of Gainesboro, TN and Stephen Baker of Gainesboro, TN; daughter: Tonya (Jeremy) Stafford of Gainesboro, TN; brothers: Roy (Sherry)  Henson and Finis Henson from Gainesboro, TN.  Billy was blessed with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Numerous  other relatives and friends survive.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in Billy's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital by contacting the business office of the funeral home.

Visitation will be on Wednesday April 23, 2025, from 3 pm to 8 pm and Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 11 am to 2 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 2 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney McGill officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurricane Cemetery.
