Billy R. Scott

Funeral services for Mr. Billy R. Scott, 66, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born February 9, 1946, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Avertt Scott and Ruby Pigg Scott. On February 19, 1971, he was married to Patsy Smith Scott, who survives. He was a retired businessman, and served previously as Jackson County Trustee. He was a member of the board of directors of UCEMC and Happy Haven Home. He was a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ, and served as a deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Melvin Scott, James U.L. Scott, and Odell Scott; and 2 Sisters: Dorothy Scott and Mattie Jo Jones. Survivors include his Wife: Patsy Smith Scott of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Son: Gregory Scott of Gainesboro, TN; and 3 Sisters: Judy Scott of Gainesboro, TN, Frances (Kenneth) Luck of Gainesboro, TN, and Aline Allen of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Bro. John Mabery and Bro. Jack Honeycutt will officiate at the services.
