Memorial services for Billy P. Stafford, 77, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, formerly of the Freestate community and Detroit, Michigan, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. The family has chosen cremation. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at his residence in Gainesboro. He was born May 1, 1935 in Gainesboro, TN to the late Comer E. Stafford and Earsie Patterson Stafford. He was a retired machinist in the marine industry and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Comer Stafford, Jr. and Joe Stafford. Survivors include his spouse: Betty Sue Harris Stafford; 1 Son: Dennis H. (Stella) Stafford of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Diane Ledbetter (Steve) Smith and Donna Stafford (Milan) Zec all of Cookeville, TN; 2 Brothers: John Landon (Doris) Stafford and Jimmy Lloyd (Katherine) Stafford all of Cookeville, TN; 4 Grandchildren: Josh Ledbetter, Andy (Becky) Stafford, Nick Ledbetter, Michelle Stafford (Jeremy) Flynt; 4 Great-Grandchildren: Spencer Stafford, Piper Stafford, Cajun Ledbetter, and Jorja Flynt. Bro. Jimmy Anderson, Bro. Bill Dudney, and Karen Vanhooser will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the India Mission Fund, Putnam County Animal Shelter, or the donor's favorite charity by contacting the funeral home.
