Funeral services for Mr. Billy Martin, 88, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Hensley Cemetery in the Freewill community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 P.M. - 9 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at his residence. He was born October 1, 1926, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Bill and Katie Martin. On April 2, 1951, he was married to Marie Martin, who survives. He was a retired factory worker, a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 9 Brothers: Junior, William Hurbert, Thurman, Arnold, Aaron, Troy B., Arvil, Ted, and Lewis Martin; and 3 Sisters: Wilma Dean Ballard, Lura Chaffin, and Viola Gentry. Survivors include His Wife: Marie Martin of Gainesboro; 2 Sons: Mike (Debbie) Martin and Steve (Robbie) Martin, both of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Rita Dodson of Gainesboro, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Keith (Lisa) Dodson, Chris (Melanie) Martin, Bryan Martin, Shannon (Jeff) Johnson, Kelly Martin, Brandi (Job) Kriebel, and Brooke Martin; 13 Great-Grandchildren: Hailey, Carlie, Kaleb, Bryson, Alex, Zander, Skylar, Tacarra, Karsen, Kai, Tristan, Kaleob, and Kayden; 1 Sister: Clorene Allen of Gainesboro, TN; and Special Pets: Silas and Sadie.
