Memorial Services for Mr. Billie H. Hix, 72, of Bloomington Springs, Tennessee, will be conducted on Friday, October 23, 2015, at 2 P.M. at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. The family has chosen cremation, with interment of cremains following at the New Hope Cemetery in the New Hope community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He was born June 15 1943, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Gurstle A. Hix and Beatrice Smith Hix. He was a director for the Department of the Interior. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was the chairman of the Jackson County Republican Party and helped coordinate campaign efforts for local, state, and national elections. In addition to his Parents, he was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents : Robert "Mack" and Elizabeth Hall Hix and Maternal Grandparents: John Quarles Smith and Lola Poston Smith. Survivors include 2 Sons: Hal (Lisa Chrismer) Hix of Canton, GA and Jonathan Keith Hix of Bloomington Springs, TN; 1 Daughter: Kimberly Ruth (Matthew Hughes) Hix of Newnan, GA; 8 Grandchildren: Brandy Barber, Emily Hix, Rachal Hix, Aya Hix, Jeffrey Hix, Sophia Hix, Eva Hix, and Isabella Hix; Mother of His Children: Pamela Ruth Bell; 1 Brother: Bennie (Barbara) Hix of the Burristown Community of Jackson County, TN; 1 Aunt: Thelma Ramsey of Goodlettsville, TN. Several cousins and friends also survive. Special thanks is extended to Jonathan and Aya for their excellent care.
