Betty Merlene Brown, 80, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro, TN. The family has chosen cremation, with memorial services at a later date. She was born December 26, 1936, in Jackson County, TN, to the late H.H. Scantland and Ova Scantland. She was a factory worker, and a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Lois Lee. Survivors include 1 Son: Ricky Brown of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Daughters: Kimberly Thacker of Burkesville, KY, and Pam Stewart of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Brothers: Harold Scantland of OH, and Randy Scantland of OH; 5 Sisters: Maidy Moody of Gainesboro, TN, Carol Taulbee of OH, Wanda Wilson of Gallatin, TN, Ann Wilson of OH, and Brenda Auberson of Livingston, TN; Special Friends: Wanda Hix and Suzanne Thornton; 11 Grandchildren; and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
