Betty Jo Allen Brown

Betty Jo Allen Brown was born Dec. 13, 1935 in Jackson County, TN and she passed away at her residence on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the age of 86. Mrs. Betty was the daughter of Rufus Harold and Edna Jane Hix Allen. She was a retired bank teller and a member of the Flynn's Creek Church of Christ. On Dec. 10, 1955 she was married to Mr. Jack Russell Brown for a total of 66 years of marriage. She was a resident of the Dry Fork Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Harold and Edna Jane Hix Allen, sister, Joy West, brother-in-law, Joe West and daughter in law, Martha Brown, sister-in-laws, Becky Brown and Barbara Allen; Survivors include her husband, Jack Brown of Gainesboro, sons, Russell (Evelyn) Brown of Lafayette, Randy (Kim) Brown of Crossville, Tim (Tammie) Brown of Gainesboro, Tom (Debbie) Brown of Ethridge, TN; Sam (Marcia) Brown of Sparta; Alan (Emily) Brown of Gainesboro; daughter, Angela (Jeff) Mathis of Nashville; sister, Jane (Arlon) Way of Crossville; 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive along with nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be on Monday, June 27, 2022, 4-8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 1pm until 2 pm. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Mike Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Chapel Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorial donations may be made to Browns Chapel Cemetery or Allen Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
