Betty Hix Scantland

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Hix Scantland, 78, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, October 19, 2012, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 - 9 P.M. and on Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born August 4, 1934 in Jackson County to the late Johnny Hix and Roxie Lackey Hix. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl "Jim" Scantland, who passed away on October 11, 2005. She was a factory worker at Nielsen and a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Gene, Charles C., and Bobby Hix; 1 Sister: Gail Boles. Survivors include 2 Sons: Randy (Jennifer) Scantland and Tony (Toni) Scantland, all of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Carol (Richard) Dawes of Cookeville, TN; 6 Grandchildren: Chris Dawes. Tyler, Nicolas, Jordan, and Hope Scantland and Leah Scantland (Jeff) Harrison; 1 Brother: Billy E. (Janie) Hix of Gainesboro, TN; Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Martha and Earl Flynn, Revene Hix, Ina and Charlie Poston, Betty Hix, Dorothy Stewart, and Joe and Edna Scantland. Bro.
