Betty Gailbreath Moore

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Melinda Gailbreath Moore, 48, of Nashville, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, January 26, 2007, at the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 - 8 P.M. at the funeral home, and on Friday the body will lie in state at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of services. Mrs. Moore passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Ward "Bub" Gailbreath and Lucille Bowman Gailbreath. Betty is survived by her husband, Carey Moore, her sister and dearest friend, Peggy Gailbreath Sircy; mother-in-law Pepper Moore and sister-in-law Robin Moore of Nashville; aunt Joy Gailbreath Brown of Gainesboro; nieces and nephews Tony Sircy of Knoxville, Matt and Crystal Sircy of Gainesboro, and Angel Sircy Mathis and Michael Mathis of Cookeville. She is also survived by grand-nieces and nephews Jessica Wylie, Kyle Wylie, Kent Mathis, and Destiny Sircy. Betty was a native of Gainesboro, Tennessee, a place she always held close to her heart. She graduated from Jackson County High School and MTSU. She worked for WSMV-TV for 3 years and The Nashville Network for 18. She and her sister, Peggy, also operated the Gailbreath Inn Bed & Breakfast and Catering. Betty leaves behind a lot of family and extended family who will miss her, but she also leaves behind dozens of friends from practically every period of her life. Rev. Mike Brown, her cousin, of Dallas, TX, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Carey Moore, Tony Sircy, Matt Sircy, Michael Mathis, Kyle Wylie, and Jeff Bowman. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Betty's name to The American Cancer Society or the National Leiomyosarcoma Foundation.
