Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Brown, 83, of the Shiloh community of Jackson County, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Allentown Cemetery in the New Salem community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019, at her residence. She was born April 30, 1936 in Jackson County, TN, to the late Robert Lee Hopkins and Mary Susan Hopkins. She worked at Nielsen, and was a member of the Cummins Mill Baptist Church in Cookeville, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: Marion Hopkins, Joe Hopkins, Lewis Morgan Hopkins, and Edwin Lee Hopkins. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Rita (Dewey) Barlow of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Joey (Tonya) Poston of Cookeville, TN and Mandy (Mike - Jughead) Perhay of Cookeville, TN; 4 Great Grandchildren: Austin Poston, Samantha Poston, Tommy Perhay, and M.J. Perhay; and 1 Brother: Charles (Reba) Hopkins of Gainesboro, TN. Several nieces, nephews, and special friends also survive. Bro. Sam Mainord will officiate at the services.
