Bessie Jones Flatt

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Jones Flatt, 94, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Boiling Springs Cemetery on Burgess Falls Road in Cookeville, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 P.M. - 8 P. M. and Monday from 12 Noon until time of services. She passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at NHC Health Care Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born November 8, 1917, in Sparta, TN, to the late Story Mott and Avannah Saylors Mott. She was married to the late Burnis L. Jones. She was a factory worker, and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Freddy Jones; 4 Brothers: Lloyd Mott, Robert Mott, Isaac Mott, and Willie Mott; and her Second Husband: Benton M. Flatt. Survivors include 1 Son: Ted (Rosemary) Jones of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Greta (Ken) Flatt of Cookeville, TN; and 1 Daughter-in-Law: Ruby Jones of Cookeville, TN. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren also survive. Bro. Alan Judd will officiate at the services.
