Bessie Flatt Young

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Mae Flatt Young, 92, of Bunker, Missouri, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, January 11, 2013, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3 P.M. - 9 P. M., and Friday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Salem Memorial District Hospital in Salem, Missouri. She was born August 12, 1920, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Alex Z. Flatt and Addie Frances Bean Flatt. She was married to the late William Fred Young, who passed away May 29, 1987. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter: Lisa Renae Young; 2 Brothers: Boyd Flatt and Earnest B. Flatt; and 5 Sisters: Virgie Frazho, Christine Flatt, Lucinda Flatt, Ozelma Flatt, and Alice Hawkins Pippin. Survivors include 6 Sons and Daughters-in-Law: Burton (Sheila) Young, Roy (Essie) Young, Jerry (Jo Ann) Young, and Bruce (Phyllis) Young, all of Gainesboro, TN, Ray (Ruth) Young of Cookeville, TN, and Sheldon (Lori) Young of Bunker, MO; 10 Grandchildren: Judy (Jeff) McDaniel, Donna (Ben) Young, Rita (Jimmy) Strong, Todd (Vivian) Young, Jerri (Jeff) Anderson, Jamie Young, Wayne (Jennifer) Young, Tanner Young, Hannah Young, and Leah Young; 17 Great Grandchildren: Amy (James) Orndoff, Faith (Tom) Jacobson, Casey (Brandon) Garrison, A.J. (Tammy) McDaniel, Tianna (Will) Stafford, Alaney Watson, Macey Watson, Misty Anderson, Delenn Strong, Nolan Young, Allie Young, Serenity Young, Torie Young, Riley Anderson, Jaylin Anderson, Noah Young, and Lance Anderson; 8 Great Great Grandchildren: Emily Orndoff, Hope Jacobson, Grace Jacobson, Collin Garrison, Ashley Orndoff, Brody Garrison, Joy Jacobson, and Brock McDaniel; and 1 Sister: Avo Hogan of Iron City, TN. Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. John Mabery will officiate at the services.
