Berry Brock Goolsby, born on February 3, 1966, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024. Raised in Gainesboro, TN, Berry met the love of his life, Carlene Goolsby, with whom he shared 39 wonderful years of marriage. They were married on June 1, 1985, and soon after, they moved to Nashville, TN, where they built a beautiful life together.
Berry is preceded in death by his father, Buddy Brock Rabon Goolsby, and his brother, Jerry Rabon Goolsby. He is survived by his loving mother, Minnie Lou Goolsby; his cherished sister, Sherry Goolsby; his devoted wife, Carlene Goolsby; his daughters, Miranda Allen (son in law Chris Allen) and Megan Goolsby; and his son, Kevin Goolsby.
Berry's career was marked by dedication and hard work. In the 1990s, he owned his own game room in Gainesboro, TN. He then spent over 20 years at Dixie Wire. When Dixie Wire closed he seeked further education, Berry attended TCAT and earned multiple certificates in computer science. His expertise led him to become a professor at TCAT, inspiring many students. Later, he transitioned to a role in IT at Vanderbilt Hospital, where he continued to make significant contributions until his passing.
A devoted Christian, husband, and father, Berry's life was filled with love and joy. He had a passion for Snoopy, r/c cars, game rooms, music, and all things electronics. His enthusiasm and zest for life were infectious, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services to celebrate Berry's life will be held at Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro, Tennessee. Service will be held on Thursday June 27, 2024, at 2pm graveside.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the family for the headstone. Donations may be made by contacting the business office of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.
Berry's legacy of love, faith, and passion for life will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
