Beatrice Harris

Beatrice Harris of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on September 4, 2025 at the age of 100. She was born in Gainesboro, Tennessee to the late Winton & Linnie Hix. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Harris; her son-in-law, Jeem Newland II, and her siblings: Fred, James, Eliase, twins Edna Mae & Willie Gray, Claude and Freeman.

Her memory will be cherished by her children: Kenny (Brenda) Harris, Jim (Ruby) Harris, Jean (Jim) Newman, David (Kim) Harris, and Linda Newland; grandchildren: Michael Newman, Pam Day, Richie Newman, Jason Harris, Nicholas Harris, Jeem Newland III, and Kristy Newland; great-grandchildren: Cameron, Alexis, Haleigh, Landon, Jeem IV, Emma, Harper, Noah, Hudson and Sophia, and a great-granddaughter, Penelope; her sister-in-law, Margaret Hix; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, Ohio. Beatrice will be laid to rest with her husband Clifton in Lynn Cemetery in Gainesboro, Tennessee on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 11am.   Visitation will be on Thursday, 10 am to 10:45 am at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.
