Barbara Ann Scott

Barbara Ann Heady Scott age 81 of Baxter, TN passed away from this life and entered her heavenly home on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

Barbara was born on January 29, 1942 in Jackson County, TN to the late Clarence and Hazel Mahaney Heady.  She was a retired factory worker and substitute teacher.  She was a faithful christian and servant to the lord, a former member of the Free State Church of Christ and member of the Center Grove Church of Christ.  She was loved by her family and friends and was known by many as "Tiny".  She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing bible trivia and volunteering at her church.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husbands, Damon Loftis and Mitchell Scott, daughter and son-in-law, Freda (Bill) Maxwell, three brothers, Clarence Jr. "Preacher" (Betty) Heady, Eddie "Bully" Heady, Sam (Judy) Heady; three sisters Dorothy (Junior) Rush, Lucille (Carl) Fox, Mabel (Junior) Smith; sister-in-law, Clella Heady and step son-in-law, Ben Leonard.

Survivors include daughter, Donna (Jeff) Mathis of Baxter, TN; son, Terry Loftis of Atlanta, GA; two step-daughters, Sherry (Walter) Arms of Carthage and Michelle Leonard of Pleasant Shade, TN; two brothers, Kenneth Heady of Gainesboro, TN and Mark (Karol) Heady of Pueblo, CO.  Five grandchildren, Holly Chaffin (Trent Snider), Justin Loftis, Zachary (Ashley) Brazle, Tyler (Lindsey) Loftis, Trent (Nicole) Maxwell; three step-granddaughters, Anna Brooke and Natalie Leonard and Jada Arms.  Twelve great grandchildren, Dillon, Bailey, Libby, Finley, Aubree, Sutton, Bristol, Reagan, Abby, Trey, Keira and Aiden.  Several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 16, 2023 4-8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home and again on Sunday, 11 am to 1 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023 in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Bybee officiating.  Burial will follow in Byers Cemetery.
