Funeral services for Mrs. A.V. Thomas, 87, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John Young Cemetery in the Shiloh community. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018, at her residence. She was born June 20, 1930, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late Troy B. Hensley and Maggie Hensley. On October 8, 1949, in Angolan, IN, she was married to the late B.W. "Berry Tom" Thomas, who passed away April 30, 2012. She was a furniture factory worker, and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. She was known and loved as "Nannie Thomas" to all who knew her. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sons: Larry Thomas and Garry Thomas; 2 Grandsons: Garry J. Thomas, Jr. and Stevie Allen; 2 Brothers: Wilburn Hensley and James Hensley; and 4 Sisters: Annie B. Loftis, Velvie Denson, V.L. Hensley, and Dorothy Mayberry. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Debbie (Elmer) Allen of Gainesboro, TN; 3 Grandchildren: Jerry (Tonya) Thomas, Missy Thomas, and Shawn (Julie) Thomas; 8 Great Grandchildren: Bobby Dale Thomas, Emma Brooke Thomas, Lisa Pryor, Latoya Pryor, Thomas Pryor, Kaleb Young, Kaitlyn Young, and Kristen Young; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; and 5 Sisters: Lona Ledsma of MI, Edith (Charles) Mitchell of Gainesboro, TN, Betty Sue Mabrey of Gainesboro, TN, Jean Loftis of Gainesboro, TN, and Polly Petty of Gainesboro, TN. Bro. John Mabrey and Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to the John Young Cemetery by contacting the funeral home.
