A.V. "Ma" Brown

Funeral services for Mrs. A.V. (Ma) Brown, 77, of Baxter, Tennessee, will be held at 4 P.M. on Sunday, September 10, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery in the New Salem community of Jackson County, Tennessee. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M. and Sunday from 8 A.M. until time of services at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2006, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. She was born July 27, 1929, in Putnam County, Tennessee, to the late Sanford Johnson & Lizzie Haney Johnson. On May 27, 1946, she was married to the late J.B. Brown, who passed away on May 27, 1972. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded i n death by 1 Daughter: Cora (Tooter) Elizabeth Garrett; 1 Brother: Charles Johnson; 1 Grandchild: Ronnie Wayne Brown, Jr.; her Paternal Grandparents: Henry (Pap) & Leitha Johnson; and her Maternal Grandmother: Mary Haney. Survivors include 4 Sons: Jerry Brown of Cookeville, TN, Garry Brown of Mattoon, IL, Ronnie Brown of Gainesboro, TN, and Ricky Brown of Baxter, TN; 5 Daughters: Martha Loftis of Bloomington Springs, TN, Janice Haugk of Silver Point, TN, Versie Derossitt of Silver Point, TN, Margie Moore of Sparta, TN, and Mary Rogers of Bloomington Springs, TN; 1 Daughter- in-Law: Reba Jean Cantrell of Baxter, TN; 1 Brother: Billy Glenn Davis of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister: Reba Nell Scott of Gainesboro, TN; and a Special Friend: Carol Henry of Cookeville, TN. 15 Grandchildren and 12 Great- Grandchildren also survive.
