August "Skip" Wangler

Funeral services for Mr. August Lawrance "Skip" Wangler, 65, of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 P.M. - 9 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Wangler passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born January 22, 1944, in Stark County, FL, to the late Lawrance and Verneda Huffman Wangler. On December 11, 1965, he was married to the late Johnnie Lois Dyer Wangler. He worked in the printing department at Tennessee Technological University. He was a member of the Baxter Church of Christ, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother-in-Law: Donald Miller. Survivors include 1 Son: Steven Wangler of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: June (John) Billingsley of San Antonio, TX; 3 Grandchildren: Matthew Allen, Lauren Danielle Wangler, and Aaron Billingsley; 4 Brothers: Larry Wangler of IL, Patrick Wangler of IL, Michael Boettcher of IL, and Bobby Wangler of Jamestown, TN; 2 Sisters: Priscilla Miller of IL, and Linda Bumberry of IN; 3 Sisters-in-Law: Donna Wangler, Leann Boettcher, and Darlene Wangler; and 1 Brother-in-Law: Robert Bumberry.
