Arnold Spivey

Funeral services for Mr. Arnold Spivey, 93, of Whitleyville, TN, will be held at 3 P.M. on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 P.M. - 8 P.M., and on Sunday from 1 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born February 16, 1924, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Dillard and Sarah Painter Spivey. He was married to Jewell Davis Spivey for 70 years as they were wed on October 10, 1947. He was a supervisor for the Gainesboro Water and Gas Department and was a member of the Whitleyville Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Freeman Spivey and Guy Spivey and 2 Sisters: Ella Glover and Zella Clark. Survivors include His Wife of 70 years: Jewell Davis Spivey of Whitleyville, TN; 1 Son: Steve (Lora Lee) Spivey of Whitleyville, TN; 2 Daughters: Lea Ann (Bruce) Payne of Whitleyville, TN and Wanda (Jimmy) Maynord of Cookeville, TN; 5 Grandchildren: Jason, Ben, and April Hickok and Nolan and Morgan Spivey; and 6 Great Grandchildren.
