Funeral services for Mr. Arel Henry Allen, 84, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery on Fairview Road in Putnam County, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at NHC Health Care Center in Cookeville, TN. He was born July 9, 1933, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Joe Lee Allen and Della Dickerson Allen. He was a steel worker and lumberyard worker, and a member of the Fairview Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Gerald Allen and Bobby Allen. Survivors include 1 Son: Joseph Lee Allen of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Barbara Pranger of Detroit, MI; 2 Grandchildren: Nichole and Donald; and 6 Sisters: Wilma Croy of CA, Rilda Allen Stacy of Cookeville, TN, Janice Sheridan of Detroit, MI, Sandra Diemer of Chelsea, MI, Judy Rozar of Fayetteville, TN, and Carolyn Nash of West Land, MI.
