Funeral services for Mrs. Ara Aline Pippin Way, 95, of Cookeville, TN, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 Noon - 9 P.M., and Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at her residence. She was born September 24, 1919, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Ardel Pippin and Isabell Dill Pippin. In July of 1936, she was married to the late Willie Joe Way, who passed away December 25, 2006. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ. She was an honorary member of Michigan Christian Youth Camp. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Ardel Leonard Pippin; and 5 Sisters: Grace Flatt, June Underwood, Hazel Bush, Bonnie Jones, and an infant sister. Survivors include 2 Sons: Bobby J. and Patricia Way of Foley, AL, and Jimmy Dale Way of Cookeville, TN; 1 Daughter: Shirley and Wendell Combs of Hendersonville, TN; 8 Grandchildren: Kenneth James (Michelle) Way, Gina (Barry) Crawford, Susan Marie (Terry) Fisher, Brian Allen Way, Ronald Joseph Way, David Wendall (Millie) Combs, Sharon Anette (Michael) Kirby, and Matthew Joseph Combs; 25 Great Grandchildren: Chelsi Lauren Way, Brett Joseph Way, Kurtis James Fisher, Thomas Joseph Fisher, Kyle Kenneth Way, Jacob Dale Way, Devin Manuel Way, Bailey Samuel Way, Zoe Melton, Alicia Melton, Isabelle Melton, Galen Cavanaugh, Thaddeus Combs, Abby Combs, Faith Combs, Annie Combs, Ethan Combs, Cameron Combs, Drake Cavanaugh, Brooklyn Combs, Charli Crawford, Lauren Crawford, Hadley Bowman, William Bowman, and Emma Bowman; 1 Brother: Ray (Nora) Pippin of Gallatin, TN; and 1 Sister: Marie Jackson of Cookeville, TN. Bro. Ray Pippin, Bro. Bill Flatt, Bro. Arlon Way, and Bro. Jeremiah Tatum will officiate at the services. Memorial donations may be made to Michigan Christian College by contacting the funeral home.
