Funeral services for Mr. Ammon "Odie" Dixon, 67, of Gainesboro, Tennessee, will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, May 28, 2007, at Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 P.M. - 9 P.M., and on Monday from 9 A.M. until time of services. Mr. Dixon passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2007, at his residence. He was born February 7, 1940, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Johnie and Lorene Hawkins Dixon. He was married to the late Christine F. Dixon, who passed away May 20, 2007. He was the owner of City Caf in Gainesboro, TN. Mr. Dixon was a member of Madison Campus Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Jackson County Historical Society. He was also a member of the Sons of the Confederacy Invincibles, the Shriners, and the Masonic Lodge. He created the Jackson County Historical Society's web site, and graduated from the U.S. Army Medical Technical Institute first in his class. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Barry Odell Dixon; and 2 Sisters: Betty Sue Dixon and Beverly June Dixon. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Rachel (Ernest) Haslop of Dyersburg, TN; and 5 Grandchildren: Stacey Franklin, Nathaniel Haslop, Phillip Scott Odell Haslop, Brian Lee Haslop, and Cynthia Haslop. Rev. Dwayne Tyus will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dixon Family by contacting Anderson - Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.
