Alton Mayberry

Alton Mayberry was born Feb. 2, 1930 in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at his residence at the age of 93.

Mr. Mayberry was the son of Newton Fox Mayberry and Naomi Hensley Mayberry.  He was a retired State Highway Department Employee and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, his wife, Emma Jean Robinson Mayberry who died 2-10-2013.

Survivors include sons, Roger Dale (Carol) Mayberry of Cookeville and Billy (Edna) Mayberry of Gainesboro; daughter, Barbara (John) Mabery of Gainesboro; grandchildren,  Leslie (Russell) Wattenbarger, Andrea (Jeff) Guillote, Chris (Liz) Mabery, Amanda (Mike) Birdwell and Laura Beth Mayberry.  8 great grandchildren along with other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Sat. October 7, 2023 from 4 pm to 8 pm and again on Sunday, 12 noon to 2 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Mabery officiating.  Burial will follow in Mayberry Family Cemetery.
